His vibrant and dramatic compositions, whether of landscapes, people, or cultures, have solidified his reputation as a pioneer in color photography.
Meola’s work extends beyond editorial and commercial photography; he is also a successful author with several critically acclaimed books. Among his best-known publications are The Last Places on Earth, which showcases remote and stunning landscapes, Fierce Beauty, a breathtaking collection of images from Samoa, and Streets of Fire, which explores his time photographing Springsteen. His most celebrated book, India: In Word & Image, is a testament to his deep appreciation for color, capturing the rich hues and moods of India’s people and landscapes.
